Rich & Easy Butter Pie Dough. Better than store bought pie dough and very easy to make. This pie dough makes rich pastry, perfect for pies, quiche, butter tarts and so much more. Guests will rave over your pastry delights with this simple recipe!

Recipe makes 0.85 lb (390g) of dough.

Ingredients:

7 oz (160g) all-purpose flour
4.5 oz (125g) very cold unsalted butter
2.5-3.5 oz (65-90g) cold water
2 tsp (8g) brown sugar
1/2 tsp (2g) salt


Butter Pie Dough preparation steps:

1. Blend flour, brown suger and salt.
2. incorporate in very cold butter to flour, sugar and salt mix, reducing the butter to pea-sized pieces. Use a pastry blender, food processor or very cold fingers.
3. add cold watter slowly until the dough just barely sticks together.
4. round the dough to a ball. Cover it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours to allow the indgredients to blend.
5. take dough ball out and create a flat disk by hand. Place on flour-dusted rolling surface and roll with a rolling pin to desired thickness. Be sure to constantly turn the dough as you roll it and dust with flour under and on top of the dough to prevent sticking.
